Admission Procedure

Students will be admitted on the basis of the merit obtained by them in the All India Common Entrance Test (CET).The candidates are required to fill the application forms available in the University office and submit the same to the University on or before the scheduled date.

The CET will be held on the designated date at the examination centers. The address of the examination centre will be communicated to the candidate through his admission card.

The CET will prepare a merit list of the examinees on the basis of the total marks obtained by them in the both CET and PUC/(10+2) will be called for counseling as per their rank in the merit list.

i. Through CET - 55%
ii. Through COMEDK - 25%
iii. Through Management - 20%
(as per Govt. of Karnataka rules for the year 2007-08)

Eligibility Criteria

For Admission to 1st Sem B.E Degree Course.
  1. Extract of the Academic Eligibility from the Govt. order.(Complete Govt. Order may obtained from website www.vtu.ac.in)
  2. Pursuant to Executive Council Resolution no.3 of 13th June 2005, 12 years of schooling (10+2) / Bords / University / in India or abroad are recognized as equivalent to Second year P.U.C of Karnataka P.U.E Board, Bangalore for admission to first year degree course in Engineering and Architecture. However, this is subject to satisfying eligibility requirements as laid down from time to time by the State Govt. and University.
  3. The eligible candidates (Other than P.U.E & CBSE) seeking admission to first year Engg. and Architecture courses should obtain the eligibility certificate from the concerned college.
  4. Academic Eligibility: No candidates shall be eligible for admission to any of the full time B.E degree courses other than the degree course in Architecture unless he
    1. Has appeared for the Common Entrance Test conducted by the Common Entrance Test Cell.
    2. Has passed the second year Pre-University or XII standard or equilent examinations held preceeding the Entrance test.
      1. With Physics and Mathematics as compulsoty subjects, along with on of the following subjects:- Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Computer Science, Biology, Electronics and has secured not less than forty five percent of the aggregate marks in optional subjects with English as one of the languages for admission to Engineering and Technology courses.

        Provided further that, the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility shall be forty percent of aggregate in optional subjects in case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes specified in the relevant Government Order for the purpose of reservation in respect of Indian System of Medicine and Homoeopathy, Engineering and Technology courses.
Lateral Admission for Diploma Students

A Candidate shall be eligible for admission to any of the full-time degree courses specified in clause ( C) of sub rule (3) of rule 1, if he has appeared for the Common Entrance Test conducted under rule 17 and is the holder of a diploma in the appropriate branch of Engineering specified in SCHEDULE-1, awarded by the Board of Technical Examination in Karnataka or equivalent qualification and has secured not less than forty percent of marks in the final examination in the fifth and sixth semesters in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other Backward Classes and has secured not less than forty five percent of marks in respect of others.

Admission for Management Quota

Application are invited from eligible Candidates. Written test (Aptitude) is conducted and seats are allotted on merit basis.

ISTE chapter and student chapter is initiated. All the staff members are lifeMembers of ISTE and college is enrolled as a institute member of ISTE.

Allumni Association
All students passed out of this college are members of alumni. An Alumni Day will be celebrated from the current academic year.

Industrail Visits
Regular industrial visits are arranged for final and pre final year students to expose them to industries atmosphere. Experts from industries are invited for guest lecturers on current topics in addition to seminars conducted by staff members on latest technology.
